Cookie Policy

solaerp uses only the minimum cookies needed to keep you securely signed in and to remember basic preferences — no advertising and no third-party tracking or analytics cookies.

This document is provided in the interest of transparency and is a general template — it is not legal advice. Please have it reviewed by counsel before relying on it.

In short

solaerp keeps its use of cookies to the minimum needed to make the service work and keep it secure. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies — a session/authentication cookie that keeps you signed in after you click your magic link, a security token that protects against cross-site request forgery, and a cookie for basic preferences.

  • We do NOT use advertising cookies.
  • We do NOT use third-party tracking or analytics cookies.
  • We do NOT sell personal data or run third-party ad networks.
  • Every cookie we set falls into the "strictly necessary" category.
Because solaerp uses passwordless sign-in (a magic link emailed to you), the session cookie is what keeps you logged in. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in or stay signed in.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. When your browser sends that file back to the site on later requests, the site can recognize your session and apply your preferences. Some cookies last only until you close your browser ("session" cookies); others remain for a set period ("persistent" cookies).

Related browser technologies include "local storage," which lets a site save small pieces of information in your browser for interface preferences. solaerp uses local storage only for non-tracking UI settings, as described below.

Categories of cookies we use

solaerp uses one category of cookies only: strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the service to function and to protect your account. They cannot be switched off through our settings because the application will not work without them.

Strictly necessary (always active)

  • Keep you signed in after you authenticate with your magic link.
  • Protect form submissions and actions against cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
  • Remember basic, non-tracking interface preferences.

Cookies we do NOT use

  • Advertising or marketing cookies.
  • Third-party tracking cookies or cross-site profiling cookies.
  • Third-party analytics cookies.
  • Cookies that sell or share your personal data with advertisers.

The essential cookies we set

The table below lists the strictly necessary cookies used by solaerp and what each one is for. Cookie names may carry a prefix or vary slightly depending on your operator's configuration, but their purpose is as described.

Session / authentication cookie
Keeps you signed in after you click your emailed magic link. It references a session that is stored server-side in the database; no password is stored, because solaerp sign-in is passwordless. Typically expires when the session ends or after a period of inactivity.
CSRF / security token
A security token that verifies that requests and form submissions genuinely come from your active session, protecting against cross-site request forgery. Required for actions such as publishing schedules, swapping shifts, and confirming shifts to work safely.
Preferences
Stores basic, non-tracking interface preferences so the app behaves consistently for you (for example, simple display settings). Contains no advertising or tracking data.
These are first-party cookies set by solaerp itself. The application is self-hosted on your operator's own servers in the United States.

Local storage for UI preferences

In addition to the cookies above, solaerp may use your browser's local storage to remember lightweight interface preferences — for example, layout or display choices — so the application is more convenient to use on your device.

  • Local storage is used only for non-tracking UI settings.
  • It is not used for advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking.
  • You can clear it at any time using your browser's site-data controls (see below).

No advertising or third-party tracking

solaerp does not display third-party advertising, does not participate in advertising networks, and does not use third-party tracking or analytics cookies. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising purposes.

Some features rely on outside providers, but those features do not place advertising or tracking cookies in your browser. For example, SMS messages are sent and received through Twilio, a third-party telecommunications provider; email is delivered through your operator's own mail server. These services handle message delivery — they do not set advertising cookies on the solaerp application.

How to control cookies

You can view, block, and delete cookies through your web browser's settings. Most browsers let you clear existing cookies, block cookies from specific sites, or block all cookies. The exact steps differ by browser — check the privacy or site-data settings in your browser's menu or help pages.

  • Clear or delete cookies and local storage for solaerp.com.
  • Block cookies from solaerp.com specifically, or block all cookies.
  • Use your browser's private/incognito mode, which typically discards cookies when the window closes.
Important: the cookies solaerp uses are strictly necessary. If you block or delete the session/authentication and CSRF cookies, sign-in will fail — clicking your magic link will not keep you logged in, and protected actions will not work. To use solaerp, these essential cookies must be allowed for solaerp.com.

Businesses and their staff

When a business (the "Customer") uses solaerp to schedule its staff, that business is the controller of its employees' personal data, and solaerp processes the data on the business's behalf and on its instructions. The cookies described here are set in the browser of whoever signs in — an administrator, a manager, or an employee — to keep that individual session secure.

Staff are added to solaerp by their employer and typically exercise their data rights through their employing business. For more on how personal data is handled, see the Privacy Policy linked below.
